After we ate supper tonight my husband and I were heading back upstairs to go play with him, and we heard him singing away happily. We like to listen before we go in because sometimes Kyo practices his vocabulary. Well, hubby said to me after about a minute "It sounds like he's out flying around..."

uh oh.

Sure enough, I left a side door open. Oh well, no damage to anything, and he seemed to have stayed near his cage as that's where all the poop was. It was pretty funny though to think about what might have gone through his little head. Lucky Kyo ;)

That's why he was singing :09:

Sounds like you have a little escape artist on your hands! Glad he was okay!

The day we brought Tiki home, we ran out to the store to buy some perches and toys. We were gone about an hour.

As soon as we walked in the front door, "CHIRP CHIRP!" and she came flying into the foyer and landed on the railing. Little stinker learned how to open her cage door and was out in less than an hour! LOL!

They are just too smart for their own good sometimes!

It was all my fault. I was the one who forgot to close the side door of his cage after moving some perches around. But, at least it was his cage door and not the door to his bird room, as we have cats. ><

Someone had an exciting day!

They do love being cage free! Sounds like Kyo enjoyed himself whilst on the lam if he was singing about it:D

Kyo had an adventure worth singing about, I'm glad his exciting day ended well. Now that he knows he can escape through the food door, don't be surprised if he works on the lock.

Yeah, those little side doors are hard to remember to close sometimes lol!
I am often busy or preoccupied, so I have to double check everyone's doors before leaving the house, since I don't always trust myself!

I'm notorious for leaving the food cup doors open while I go wash them... And if I get distracted and end up doing something else then I have a birdie out. Chiqui is the quickest. Took Loki forever to even figure out it was possible. He did it for the first time last week.
Chick scoots out every time and usually proudly tells me hello.
