Polly- Jenday hybrid
Blue- Parrotlet
I just adopted this beautiful 7 year old sweetheart named Polly three weeks ago. This is my first conure and I just have a question...I was told she was a dusky conure...I have done alot of research and I cant find any other dusky that looks like her...can somebody tell me what they think?

Have any bigger pictures other than your profile pic? That would help :)

Is that better sorry I'm new here :) trying to find my way around

Thank you! That's what I thought :)

I don't think she's a Jenday though I think you may be right about the hybrid thing. Everything about Polly looks like my Con except for the eye rings and dark mixed in with the head feathers. She's very interesting looking :)

It might be part jenday, but it isn't a full jenday. It looks to be a hybrid.

I agree that it definitely looks like a hybrid. Maybe jenday and nanday???

Thank you everyone :) shes such a sweet girl...I'm so happy to have her. Shes such a great companion! She stepped up the 3rd day afteri brought her home and snuggles. She seems to have her days when she doesn't want to come out of her cage. Is that normal? And shes a bit moody sometimes :) but I expect that shes in a totally new home after 7 years id be moody too! And she doesn't seem to care for toys to much. Will she eventually be more playful?

It might be a Nansun, a Nanday/ sun cross.

Whatever she is she is a looker;)

She does look most like a jenday conure to me. But as others said, she is a little different looking than most jendays I've seen. I tried looking up pictures of jenday hybrids, but I couldn't really find anything helpful. She does look like she might have a little dusky in her (the greyish patches in her head.) I really don't know, but she's gorgeous. :) Do you know how much she weighs?

EDIT: Nanday sounds quite possible. :)

Post three shows some pictures.

Surely must be a hybrid. My jenday only plays with cotton fuzzy toys or wood toys with bells and has for the last 15 years. You may just have to give her time to settle in more. Every bird is different so just sit tight and see! :p
