I've been away awhile from the forums. But I have a U2 and I was wondering what all can she way. The usual bird list? Is there certain things they live? She lives plain cooked Potatos. cinnamon rice, and lentils. Oh and noodles. She seems pretty picky. Thanks.

Do you feed her normal potatoes? That's a big no for birds, sweet potatoes and yams or ok but normal potatoes are not healthy at all. I recently found a blog called The happy cockatoo: Elle's Avian Cuisine that you should check out, it has some great recipes.

Also chop mixes are a fantastic way to include healthy foods into your birds diet. Rosie used to be extremely picky and used to only eat sunflower, safflower, oatmeal, and pasta/noodles. With a chop mix(I put veggie infused pasta in the mix) they can't pick out specific pieces because it's all stuck together and they get a ton of nutrition.

No no sweet taters. I know better. I'm gonna check that out. Ty!!

Scrambled Eggs, pasta, regular oatmeal, raw cut up vegies, nuts..fruits but not really citrusy ones..ummmm I make sydney birdie bread and he loves it. Noth ing really salty..basically health stuff. No seeds from fruits just to be safe. No caffeine or chocolate. Am I missing anything?

And they are picky eaters. Offer as much diversity as you can. Brightly colored food will help. Try a mixed vegie bag and cook it then rinse it off to make the colors stick out

Ok thanks. I know basics. No avocados etc. she's just so darn picky. I offer all kinda stuff the conures like and she sticks her nose up lol

The first few months I had Rosie I gave her a bowl of one type of veggie. When I offered a bunch of stuff mixed together she was overwhelmed and threw everything on the floor. Somehow by only having one thing she would be more willing to try it.

Be creative in how you offer food. A great way is to buy a stainless steal kabob(you can buy one at mysafebirdstore.com), do foraging with veggies, and much more.
