What is your Amazons favorite toy?

Yep, u got it. Popcicle sticks were a hit last night. She was totally thrilled with it.

My blue front LOVES anything he can shred..specifically the Kabob toys like this:

Also, brightly colored pieces of wood, rope, like this:

Oh, and for some reason he loves this silly "talking" toy:

And like the others have said..he enjoys toys that aren't bird toys at all. We've had great success with small, stuffed cat toys. He loves to throw and kick them around.

I hung a new toy in FeeBee's cage today. It had little wiffle balls, thinner wooden blocks and beads with bells tied on the bottom. He actually chewed some of the wood today. But I have to wonder if it was more because he was mad at it and wanted it gone, or liked the red color of the wood blocks?? He usually doesn't chew wood.

I got Paco a nice rope perch and one of those shreddable pinata type things. He doesnt touch toys that I can tell yet.He LOVES being near the window and watch stuff go by.Not alot to watch here but occasionally a car goes by or the neighbor who rides his bike comes down our street.
I need to get a bell toy and see if he likes that.I really dont think they ever bought toys for any of the birds. He had nothing in his cage at all but his perches and food dishes.Neither did any of the other birds.

Pete doesn't chew wood every day, but when he does do it, boy, splinters of wood go falling all over the bottom of the cage.

He does seem to really like bells though so I'm going to get him more of those. And he will go to the bottom of the cage and get a little piece of wood or an almond shell to hold in his foot and chew up. So I've been making him little pieces of wood to do that with. He likes them to be pretty small though, more like what you would give a conure.

I just ordered him a rope perch to climb and to give his old feet a break, and a bunch of shreddable things for all the birds. We will see if he bothers with the shreddable things or not I guess.

I have a feeling he won't like a boing because he gets scared if a perch moves even a little bit. I'm debating getting one. I think Rowdy will like it, not sure on Merlin but she had one in her previous home, but thinking Pete will hate it.

Keep trying, Doris. Pete never had any toys either and all of a sudden he is playing every day now.

When my Amazons are out of their cages, Coriander (male) always wants the toy that Ginger (female) is playing with. Even when they are inside their cages, they will follow each other's leads on which toy to play with. They like different toys at different times. Sometimes, they are absolutely devoted to this one toy, so when it is eventually destroyed, I buy the same one again for them, but then they hardly touch it. Heheh, they are so funny and spoilt! Coriander has ALWAYS loved to tinkle with his Activity Toy Holee Roller, though. I HAVE to replace this one for him, no matter what! This toy has the most pleasant, gentle, clearly ringing sound out of all the bell toys that I've heard. It's like a windchime. I think it's the outside rubber ball frame surrounding the bell which shields the bell from coming into contact with anything and therefore prevents its sound from being interrupted, while the rubber ball frame itself bounces off things to cause the bell to ring, which gives this toy such a clear sounding tone. (Classically trained musician talking here...)

Right now he is playing with a feather that just came out of him. Now that I realize he likes that, I guess I will leave some in there for him.
