Willow- Green Cheek Amazon
I am in an interesting predicament. Because and the Willow's tumultuous previous life there is some debate on what type of Amazon she is. I am attaching some pictures of her thought they do not show that the red around her eyes goes all the way up over her beak. (she at one point had pulled out every feather from what i am told.) She is smaller than most Amazon's I have seen in the past but i'm not sure if that might have been cause by malnutrition or if she is a smaller bread. Also she has blue flight feathers and red in her tail.

My best guess would be to pm henpecked he is the pro when it comes to the amazons I'm sure he can give you the awnser to what species of zon she is :)

It is a Mexican Red Head/ Red Topped Amazon/ Red Crowned Amazon/ Green Cheeked Amazon. Which ever name you choose to call it, they all refer to the same bird. :D One bird with many many different names. Some are very bright and bold in colour, others are patchy, and when they are babies they have no blue at all! :) They're colour much like red front macaws appear with age :)

Well it stuck me as a LCA hybrid, but could it be a mealie ? What does she weigh? I don't know.have to look at it a bit. maybe melissa has an opinion. I'd rather someone else guess and i debate.

What do immature Lilacine look like? La ??? what 's that, Lower Alabama??

The red-crowned amazon parrot averages 12 to 13.2 inches (~ 33 cm) in length (including tail).

"Their plumage is generally green with the most notable features being dark blue streaks behind the eyes, a bright red forehead and crown with light green cheeks. Their forehead, crown, and lores (the regions between the eyes and bill on the side of a bird's head) have red feathers. There is a violet blue band from above their eyes to their neck -- this blue band is absent in very young birds. The beak is yellowish-horn colored and their feet pale grey-green/brown."

Cant find a picture or any juveniles as the ones I find are practically featherless or full of colour.

She has such a yellow bill, it throws me. I'm leaning to the mealie side of things. How about alittle history?? help us out here, is she a feral bird?? that's not fair.

im going to withdrawal my comment. it has red on the eyes but not the crown...
