What kind of Amazon am I?

Ok here is some more clues, well it may cause more questions than clues. She was bread and raised by an animal hoarder, the humane society of St Tammany Parish Louisiana then confiscated her. While with them she supposedly pulled all her feathers to the point of bleeding. She was then adopted by a lady in Mississippi. I caught word threw facebook that she wanted to rehome Willow. I got her from that lady and now she is in Franklinton Louisiana. I will do my best to take some more pictures in the next few minutes and get them up here for y'all and I'll zoom in on her face, feet ect.
Wow poor baby... Do post some more pics, maybe that will help some...

Hey Tashia, she;s going to be so beautiful when she gets her "White Front" in. Gotta love a red ,white and blue amazon, LOL Congrats

Oh say did that Star Spangled Banner yet wave... Congrats, she's a buet.

ok i'm going to try to answer a few questions. La= Louisiana
Willow has had a bit of a long 2yr (give or take a little) life. Bred and originally owned by a horder, taken by the humane society where I've been told she pulled all her feathers out, then she was adopted by a person who caused more stress. She still has some "thin" spots under her wings and down her legs. I can see a thin (very thin) line of red feathers going over her beak but it doesn't show well in pictures. I have taken some more but as I am not a photographer and she doesn't do much sitting still they may be a little blurry.

oh and she is small. only about 7.5 inches from head to the end of her tail

Yup I'd say a WFA... You did a good job if you got her to do a 180 on the feather plucking! Thank you for taking her in!

I cant take the credit for that most of her feathers were back when she came to live with me

What's she she like with being handled is she willing to step up for you or dose she back off abit

shes so beautiful be great to bring out on 4th of july :)

If she is on her cage (I never put my hand in her cage) but if she is on top she goes into attack mode. you cant even get near her without bleeding. If she moves off the cage or you use a training perch (aka a long handled wooden spoon) to move her away from the cage you can usually get her to step up without too much fight though she has bitten me then also. the biggest problem isnt her backing away it's her flying away! I thought about letting her keep her flight as i have a large dog (that could care less if the bird walked across his face) in the house and i thought she would feel safer if she could get out of his reach but it's making working with her in any way a pain in the booty! you get her to step up once or twice and reward her. she takes her reward and flies up to the ceiling fan and sits there until she is good and ready to get down. (i have no choice but to leave her there till she decides to come down b.c i have 10 ft ceilings and i'm 5ft tall... so now she has started flying up there as soon as she gets out of the cage just to avoid touch. She loves to be talked to and will come close to your face and not show any aggression.

Trust me birds are great climbers, usually and they are fast. Clip her if you're comfortable with that until you have her handable. Most f my grandmothers birds don't know they can fly (2 do), but all them can climb up a cage or stand faster than you could grab them. Same with Erin, she is growing her wings back and can fly well, but she is the second most fastest climber I know- climbs up trees, logs, stands, ropes, cage, curtains, seats, etc.

BTW thank you every one for all of your thoughts and ideas! I feel like now that I have seen a picture of a WFA that is exactly what she... hopefully we will get a final "diagnosis" at the vet on Wednesday.

You've got one beautiful bird, reminds me of a summer day and lots of American pride :)

I am probably going to have the vet clip her when we go. I havnt done that in SO long now that i kinda want to watch someone first before i try to do it myself. and on top of that I already look like swiss cheese b/c she decided to make a nest in my sons top bunk today and did not want to come down when it was time to leave.

She will fit in with our family perfectly. My husband is in the Army so everything is Army green or Red White and Blue!

Yay lol IS your hubby on deployed or is he there now? This wold be a big suprise for home if he isn't home :)
