What next

Ive gotten tekno to come to the target dowel which I can place on my knee just outside his cage and will happily hop on. So what do I do now. Mind you the bird is still sketchy on my hands being around him unless it has the dowel or a treat. So if I have him this far... What's the next step.?

I would suggest once he is near your knee, move the dowel a little bit closer to you, and see how he reacts. I’d continue to feed him treats with your hands until he’s more comfortable with that. He’ll learn that your hands are a positive thing and should hopefully warm up to them.

I’m not an expert on dowel training, but just take baby steps and he’ll soon associate you and your hands with something positive.
