What to do next. How tdo I bond when they always fly off?

My little ones are pretty good at flying now. They aren't scared of me but they don't want me. All they wanna do is fly and perch up high.

I get them and try to hold them and give them scritches. They fly off.

When they were little they used to walk over to me, climb on me and let me touch them all over.

Maybe when they are eating on their own better I can use food to help bond. Right now they simply aren't interested.

How do I bond with them now though?

Sit there quietly and fiddle with a treat that they may only get from you. let them see you holding it and playing with it in your hands. They'll get the message eventually. food + hungry bird = bonding experience. Einstein's theory of bird relativity. it works relatively every time.

Also if they like toys, play with them!
My parrot loves to chew on things, so I hold her chew toy while she hacks into it

They haven't discovered toys yet. They also don't realize I give treats. They aren't weaned yet.

At seven weeks other than millet what is a good treat for them?

I have seen pied the youngest eat a sunflower seed. I don't know if they have a favorite food or foods yet.

Grace, IMHO now is a great time to try and feed them anything and everything (healthy) in super tiny pieces to find out what they respond to the most. They may go GA-GA over tiny pieces of broccoli today, only to drop them tomorrow. Same with pieces of raw carrots and/or other veggies.

As for them flying away, I think it's just part of the 'growing up' process. They are learning to be independent. I don't think it necessarily means they want nothing to do with you - they're simply 'stretching their wings'.

Finally. Jet was eating a pecan in my lap. Pied came over for a bite. Then Rose and the keets. Before I knew it everyone but Rex was eating millet in my lap.

Nice! That must have been a sweet moment. Given enough time to bond with you, and they'll likely be tripping over themselves in a race to get to you.
