What version of Harrisons Pellets should I be feeding a 3 month old Indian Ringneck?

I would feed him Harrison’s high-potency fine pellets.

High potency because he’s a baby and can use the extra fat and protein, as well as it’s what the company recommend you start parrots on. It’s yummier so he’s more likely to like it.

I am guessing fine should be the best size as he’s about the same size as a Quaker and my Quaker, Willow, eats the fine size. Superfine is tiny, almost like sand. Fine is more like grape nuts cereal. I think coarse would be way too big—it’s little square blocks of pellet maybe 1/4” a side (haven’t seen it in a long time but too big for a Quaker).

This kind of pellet is the only pellet I can get Willow to eat. I tried to switch him to Harrison’s lifetime fine pellets but he refused to eat them. I have been writing about this in the Quaker forum and another forum (general health care?).

I found that hand feeding Willow the high potency fine pellets from my fingers and munching a few with exaggerated enjoyment seemed to convince Willow. Otherwise he was hunger striking for a treat-type food. Also I fed the same pellets to my other bird (Mikey-he eats anything) and told HIM what a good boy he was. Etc.

Willow looks great, stopped barbering his feathers and lost stress bars on them in the past year. He looks beautiful and now that he’s thoroughly switched back to Harrison’s high potency he’s back to his sweet self.
