Okay, so I'm ticked off because I can't figure out what those T-rex cheek flaps on parrots are called. Like, you'd THINK some website, somewhere, would provide detailed anatomical information on parrots >: (. You know, those flap thingies? They're attached to the inside (I think?) of the upper beak. Warning, the second link shows a dissected African grey, so just a warning.

Are you talking about the Muscle Tendon that draw the lower Beak up? Two, one on each side!
 
Are they tendons? They always looked really useless to me. All I know is that Mom keeps jabbing the syringe into the kākāriki's cheek flaps.
 
It is always critical to remember when understanding every part of a Parrot that everything is designed to support flight. As a result everything is minimized.

If you think it is difficult to understand and/or find information today. You should have tried doing it 45 years ago!
