Where ro Place a UV Light

I have never used a UV light for my birds. I am building an avairy next spring which will be attached to a window, but in the meantime I want to get a couple of uv lights for my 2 conuress and 2 quakers The thing is, all 4 birds are out all day long so I need advice as to where I could put the lights so they are safe for the birds

I wouldn't use any lights that aren't specifically for birds and use extreme caution.

Overuse of these lights can seriously damage birds' eyes.

I read to place bird approved lights overhead not coming from the side, limit the hours to only 4 to 6 hours a day, and always make sure the bird can easily get out of the light if he wants. Excellent info in the website by M &M cage company.
