Hello everyone! Thank you for taking out the time to read my post. I am new to researching Parrots and I have a question I wanted to ask:
What is better to feed your parrot- cooked or uncooked vegetables? If cooked then boiled or steamed?

I would be very grateful if someone can answer this. Thank you

Uncooked have more vitamins. I feed raw or flash-frozen and thawed, which means they are lightly blanched before freezing to keep the vitamins and texture the best.

Depends on what your bird likes. Some veggies are healthier steamed, depending on what vitamins you're looking for.

Steamed tends to be healthier than boiled because boiling destroys more nutrients.

For example, If you steam broccoli and carrot, the vitamin C is destroyed but the Vitamin A is more available

True. I think you would have to check or know how to best prepare each vegetable. I try to take fresh or flash frozen and thaw with water or microwave steam as briefly as possible for me or birds, cook til al dente as best for each type. (I think starchier things need to be cooked some to make them digestible? Not sure.)

I still loathe peas and carrots after having to eat them canned as a child. Ugh. But steamed peas or carrots are beautiful taste jewels.
