I couldn't take them being in separate rooms any longer (and there is more to that story). So - Whisper has a new cage (I moved him to the bottom) and Patches moved to the top and it was the noisiest my house has been in EVER. Patches may be small but he has a big noise and Whisper...stayed on his food bowl just doing a short scream every 10-15 seconds. Drove me nuts so I covered them up. :D Its was 6:30 pm so it really didn't hurt them.

I have not had them face to face yet. One step at a time for me.

This morning was the same deal. Once I uncovered them they started screaming. They did settle down after a few minutes but if I walked away from the cage Patches started screaming again but only for a few seconds. Once he saw I was only in the kitchen several feet away he slowed down.

Later - when I told Patches I had to go to work...he quit screaming. As I left for work...all three were quiet. Yep - I said three.

Meet - Jingle.

Why else would I have had to have my third cage?
Jingle's story (short) is on his own thread. :p

Sounds like feeding time with multiple birds (LOUD) lol. I would love to see how Whisper and Patches are set up:) Are they in a stacker cage or side by side? Most of the time, amazons get along pretty well due to their flock mindset, but I would defiantly take it slow introducing them.

And Jingles! He's adorable!

 :11:  :11:

....chewing nails...waiting for Jingle's story....

And there shall never be peace and quiet again in your house from this day forward. :54:

Kiwibird - Right now they are in a stacker BUT that will probably change. It's too close to the floor for me and I have a cat that I'm keeping my eye on. If Whisper settles into the cat watching him and stops the heavy breathing I will keep them stacked.
And Jingles! He's adorable! Thank you! It was either him or another Amazon on Craigslist:D

The guy at the bird store said that to me too. In the midst of my buying mode yesterday I bought two Java table tops. I haven't put them up yet but the plan is to put the two Amazons on one and the severe on the other one. Now I just have to figure out where I'm going to put all of this stuff. :p

WOW...I saw the pic of Jingles and thought I missed a thread. They will settle and it won't be AS loud...lol. Can't wait to hear about Jingles...he's beautiful!

Lol. You may find Jingles gets along well with them too. He is of a similar size and comes from the same part of the world. Again, slow introductions, but different species can definitely get along!

I can handle loud - the cats are having a hard time with it but once the noise settled down a couple of the kitties came back into the room.

I'm not sure that I understand the word slow...except to when it comes to how fast I'm moving.

I hate to point out the obvious, but you seem to be suffering from the symptoms of MBS (multiple bird syndrome). It's highly contagious and posting adorable pics of Jingle helps to spread the virus. Good thing there's no cure. I'm so happy for you and your growing flock!

The more the merrier, and noisier. When my birds get loud, feeding time and bedtime, my dogs quietly slink off to a quieter location, I go with them occasionally and leave the parrots to their party.

Sometimes unusual friendships occur in a flock. My U2 and my female quaker are friends, they don't touch each other, but they will sit close and chatter back and forth, when they can't see each other they flock call until they are within eyesight again. My male quaker adopted my cockatiel the day he met her, they play and hang out together. The quakers tolerate each other, but you couldn't call them friends.

And don't I know it...trying to get rid of the MBS. I guess buying another bird wasn't it? I can't believe I bought another green bird. :p It is nice to be able to come here and know that everyone will understand that I got another one. I hope the vet is just as understanding tomorrow.
