Indian Ringneck
Hi

I’ve had my indian ringneck for almost 2 years and he’s always had these white furs deep within. Is this normal..? He’s also bald in certain areas..?

Perfectly doing well and eating/drinking shouting etc :) all good otherwise.

Thank you
Aylin

The down under the colored body feathers in green or blue birds is usually whitish. My budgies all have whitish down.
Where are the bald spots?

I have attached a photo of the bald spots.

Also that’s interesting to know, thankyou!

I've never seen a bird with down that's any color other than white or grey. Baby birds get down before feathers and its always white or grey and stays thst way through adulthood. When your bird molts you will see some fluffy whitish down molted along with her green feathers. As long as she's not plucking her feathers, the feathers may normally be less dense in some areas. The breast, for instance, normally has small areas that arent very feathered. What I see in the picture looks normal.
