She is absolutely stunning! I love the way eckies look :3 don't get me wrong, I love my GCC, he's all I want in a bird/parrot/pet/companion/mini-person. But eckies are stunning to me.

Bonus:
In the wet pictures jillie bean looks like she should be saying, "I've seen some things man".

She really is that amazing in person and then some. I am afraid I have to restrain myself from photo bombing this site with pics of her. I take them all the time.:p She is very used to me putting her on and around different things to get pics of her.
She has her own quirky personality, always loves me but doesn't always want me to touch her. I can get in a few pets before she kindly takes my finger and moves it away! She does however love to get her photo taken. I tell her she is vain but who can blame her. Today she was yelling at me "Come here woman, come here baby!" she is a hoot!

Jillie is absolutely STUNNING Laura!! BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS pictures :)

Jillie is STUNNING, it's impossible to capture her looking anything but breathtakingly beautiful. :D

But I have to add here, your African Violets aren't shabby either. I don't ever wanna hear again that you are lacking a green thumb. :09:

And Jillie with the African Violets = Magazine / book worthy!!! :smile015:

Jillie is absolutely beautiful, Laura! Such healthy plumage!

Jillie is a STUNNER. What do you feed her?! She literally GLOWS with health (and love!). What a pretty girl indeed! I bet she smells nice too after he bath;)

Laura, I'm in awe! Jilly is fabulous! Incredible photos, just gorgeous! Now that you've admitted how many photos you take, we expect you to share on a regular basis, blast the forum with pics, I promise they will be welcome.

Mostly the same things you feed that most handsome Mr Kiwi lots of fresh fruits and veggies, beans, sprouts. I think the only thing I can say would be different is some of the more exotic dried organic flowers and spices like star anise. I feel like two of the things that REALLY make a difference are the frequent baths she gets and every single morning I heat her breakfast in a pan with a pretty good size dollop of cold pressed organic coconut oil (once in a while Red Palm oil). I love coconut oil the health benefits are amazing, it is all I use for cooking and I use it as a deep hair conditioner as well as on my skin. My husband who was a red head baby and burns walking from the house to the car puts on a little coconut oil before mowing the lawn and barely even gets pink. It is amazing stuff imo!

Kiwi loves star anise too! Where do you get the dried flowers? I bet the oil does make those feathers shiny. I don't keep ANY coconut products anywhere in the house. I get angry hives all over as I'm outright allergic to them:eek:

Jillie definitely has a 'glow' to her though. I don't know that I've ever seen such an iridescent eclectus (or any parrot for that matter).

Starwest Botanicals, it is a really great company. I buy hibiscus, rose hips, calendula, elder berries, chrysanthemum, chamomile, star anise, milk thistle seeds.. Jillie loves it all!

Oh I would cry a river if I was allergic to coconut I eat tons of it. I even buy a pudding and yogurt and ice cream made with it since I try to stay away from dairy.

As do Maya and Jolly! Laura sent a care package of all that stuff home with Jolly... and Maya has become completely addicted!

The first thing that I offered her was the star anise. Being silly, I asked her if she liked it. I was not expecting the response that I got! Hahaha! As though answering the question, (and who knows, maybe she really was) she very enthusiastically and animatedly nodded her head up and down, eyes pinning away in delirious delight! Hahahahaha! I'd never seen a reaction like that from her!

So, to satisfy the scientist in me, (or the big kid. Take your pick) I pulled out a sliver of the hibiscus and offered it to her, repeating the question. And to my surprise, got the same animated response! Even got a "three-peat" with the rose hips!

I can definitely vouch... that is some powerful stuff!

I LOVE the pics! She is so beautiful! I love the idea of dried flowers and such, thank you so much. I also LOVE coconut oil and use it for pretty much everything. I use it as the ONLY face lotion for about a year now and I swear my wrinkles have diminished and I have no new ones! I also use it as my primary moisturizer on my body and to cook with. It's amazing!

I do have a quick question about that, though. I had been using it to heat up Lucy's food one a day or so as well, but I was worried about the fat content. Would that be too much for an eclectus? I thought they weren't supposed to get a lot of fat? She also LOVES anything I warm up in red palm oil.

I put the flowers right in with her chop. My birds are out of their cages most of the day and very active. There are good and bad fats and I feel the benefits far out weigh other types of fat. Jillie is not over weight, rather than give her other stuff with fats I lean more toward the coconut oil because of it's many health benefits.

Cool, thank you! Yeah, I've all but completely weaned Lucy off of her seed addiction! She now readily eats whatever chop I put in her bowl now. I'm going to get some of the botanicals and add that and will continue with the red palm and coconut oil as that is virtually all the fat she is receiving at the moment other than an occasional almond, walnuts, etc as treats.
