Every time i give my B&G Maya a bath she squirts water when she poops. she will do this 5 or 6 times, then go back to normal pooping. She sits in a cold shower for 5-10 minutes every 2-3 days. She loves it. I don't see her visibly drinking any water. She does not like to be misted at all. Is this a good or bad sign?

Edit: Do your birds do this? is it a normal thing. Ive noticed it for years but never gave it much thought

Is she getting more fruits or liquids on these days?

Nope, just the usual. Chopped hot peppers, romaine, carrots, etc etc etc varied on different dys but completely random. She likes strawberrys, watermelon (which she didn't have the lst couple baths) etc etc

Dunno.

well, my bird doesn't do that. Sounds like your bird is clean inside & out hehe ;)

Iris always lets loose a big poop when I mist her. I have no idea why, but it doesn't seem like a big deal.

Mango does the same thing. When he showers, he loves to fill his mouth often. I try to discourage this. But nevertheless he funds a way. Then for the next few hours, he urinates ALOT. Basically just clear liquid.

I always figured it's because as they preen their wet feathers they're ingesting a lot of liquid that was absorbed into their down/feathers. So it's just live they've had a big, prolonged drink, and they squirt a little just like they would if they'd just drank lots of water.

Well, it sounds like MrsKay has the right idea. Maybe it's a natural way of our birds cleansing themselves, ridding their bodies of toxins?
