Why does my conure bob his head

So my new conure keeps bobbing his head and I was wondering what it means, if anything, he usually bobs his head when i walk into the room or right after receiving a treat

I notice my new bird does it when he's about to take flight. My other Conure did the same thing.

he has never taken flight after bobbing his head, not yet anyway
