Since I'm totally new to the whole parrot thing, I'm trying to gauge cages. I'm most likely getting a Conure of some sort (or at least something of similar size), and am wondering if this cage would be approximately an appropriate size for one. The measurements are:

31" long
20.5" wide
40" tall (inside as the 52" tall in the add includes stand)
and it has 1/2" bar spacing.

That cage will work as long as your getting the smaller conures like Green Cheeks. The bigger conures have a much stronger beak that they would probably bend the cage wires. Those cages are mainly used for finches, parakeets, lovebirds, cockatiels, etc.

not having a parrot before i'd have thought the cage was suitable, but these birds can be very strong and they have the patience to destroy things in there own time :)

and as cages are not cheap, you could be getting another before your ready lol
