Won't stop chewing...

My budgie is obsessed with chewing on wood surfaces that she shouldn't be.

She's chewed through multiple screens on windows in the house, and gone and chewed on the wood interior. Now she's attempting to chew doors. She has at least nine wooden toys and surfaces to chew on inside the cage, and multiple outside.

I've tried firmly telling her no, putting her back in her cage for a time out, and providing treats for when she chews on the correct things.

No matter what I do she won't stop, and it's dangerous for her, not to mention it's expensive to replace window trimming.

Please, does anyone have any suggestions?

Chewing is natural. The solution is to keep her off of surfaces she isn't allowed to chew.

Does she like her wooden toys? Lots of bird toys are rounded but lots of birds prefer toys with corners.

I know, it's just she keeps going to the windows constantly when she's out of the cage.

She likes her wooden toys a lot, and has destroyed quite a few, but for whatever reason the window is especially tempting.
She's got plenty of variety as well

Unfortunately you will probably just have to be more persistent than she is. The second she goes to the window, pick her up and move her. Don't even give her a chance to get her beak on it.

You might also consider buying her a 2x4 plank for her cage

Alright. I'll continue to be extremely persistent haha

Actually that's a good idea. I'll see if I can get some untreated wood for her to nibble on.

It may just be something weird about the huge size and shape compared to her lol. They sell sour sprays and things but I've never heard of one actually working and the ingredients make me nervous.

Maybe? I thought she just wanted outside so I started closing the blinds when she's out but it doesn't really help. (If she had her way she'd be outside all day even though it means a tiny cage)

I'll just have to keep trying different toys and tactics to keep her away.

You have to find a chewing surface she likes better than window trim I'll bet she would like a nice big long piece of balsa wood, Hung about as high as she likes to get at the window trim. . Door tops are easy, strip of aluminum sheet bent in a U shep for the top of the door. I'm lucky, Salty loves his toys or even a good paper towel roll.
