I have no idea if my picture is going to attach or not.
I have a 3 month old green cheek I took from a breeder because a Hans Macaw bit a piece out of his beak. She was keeping it clean and assured me it would heal.
I have had him 2 weeks now and he has stolen my heart.
Tonight when I let him out for play time I noticed the huge chunk missing. I hope picture loaded on here.
I am getting him to vet ASAP.
Any comments or previous issues similar to this are appreciated. I am hoping for the best and prepared for the worse.

Hmm. Can he eat and drink? These little guys can be quite adaptable to disability.

Edit: it really looks mostly healed to me and if he has made it this far with no eating/drinking issues, he may be ok. IDK, don't want to get your hopes up, but that looks like tissue well into the process of healing at this point. Still a vet is a good idea, though. Absolutely.

Congratulations on your GCC and extra good for you to take a wounded bird. Definitely avain vet , not just a vet but a specializes avain vet only.
The sinus is exposed so your going to need some advice and care.
I had a bird with one nostril due to a hand feeding aspiration , had chronic infections but lived 17 years.
I don't have experience with beak injury of this type. Please keep us updated so we all learn.
They do steal your heart!!!

Bobby eats and drink very well. I need to soften his food and he loves fresh fruit IU ts and veggies. Apples are a favorite.
I have an appointment with an avian vet on Wednesday to make sure he is going to be ok.
He is the sweetest little bird I've ever had!
Will keep everyone updated

So glad to hear he is doing well and so loveable. Thanks for update. I definitely want to hear what vet has to say. You're educating us!
