It would not be large enough for mine. I started out with a cage that size hoping that it would be. My Meyer's just sat there. After a couple of weeks, I moved in to a flight cage which is 21 inches deep, 32 inches wide, and about 36 inches tall. It was like someone turned on a switch! My bird just came to life! I then started using the small cage as a secondary spot in another room. Due to her apparent depression whenever in the cage, I bought another larger cage for the other room as well. Now I only use the small one when travelling. I would go with a cheaper but larger cage if money is an issue. One of my cages is a flight cage intented for parakeets I think. The bar spacing is only 1/2 inch. I then built an incredible cage top for it. Her other cage has one inch bar spacing but is the same size as the flight cage and has a factory made playtop. I got it off of craigslist. The bar spacing is too wide, so she can only be in the cage when we are home and with her. She definately prefers the wider bar spacing. However, at this time, she will have to settle for what she has. Ideally, I would have 3/4 inch spacing.
My bird spends about 6 to 8 hours a day out of her cage and flies around a lot. Even so, the smaller cage made her depressed and depressing.
