So, Cal has been in a smaller cage to "climatise". It's plenty big enough for her but it was only temporary. It's been discovered that she ADORES toys and I wanted a REALLY huge cage (instead of a huge cage) to make a paradise for her.

I happened to see on ebay one down the road. 5"1 height, less than an inch bar spacing, on castors, grid for newspaper (godsend!), open top secured with landing perch, nice colour lol, feeding bowls, 3 perches and "some toys."

It started at 99p so I whacked in £40 and thought "yeah right." We won! At £23.51!!! I could not believe it!

We went to fetch it and it turns out, they had got their AG a new cage....the free toys were ones they'd bought and their parrot was scared of!!! Imagine for baby Lips....an AG sized natural perch - she'll love it. Plus some untouched really good quality rope and wood toys. Unbelievable.

So, I will be scrubbing away today!

Cal will have her birdy paradise - I've already ordered a load more toys and bridges and all sorts!

I checked it out when I got home (like I could do it in their lounge for £23.51, how cheeky do you want to be?!) and just one scuff where at some stage it's hit a wall. Mad. It is in fabulous condition. They were going to scrap it!!!! (One man's junk....)

We still have her smaller cage (£10 ebay...man I drop on!) for when she's with us in the shop and a huge sunny paradise for her when she's upstairs!

I am DE-lighted.

When it is set up and she's happy I will post you pics if you like!

Great find! Scrub like mad.You are going to have one happy birdie!!!

Oh I will! She fell asleep in her carry cage waiting for me to finish the clean on the other one hah!

I really REALLY hope she loves it.

I didn't want to wait too long in case of cage attachment!

It sounds like a birdie heaven!

She's going to be sooo happy, good for you for going all out.

Yes, please post photos. :D

Congrats on the new cage...
I know Cal and you will enjoy the larger cage. She will love all the extra room and all the toys.. You are a great guardian.

I just ordered a new larger one for Abby... I am so excited to get it..

Grats on the cage! I can't wait to see pictures!

I certainly will!

She's just getting to the stage where I may be able to take her to it (see Calypso Update) and when she does....everyone will be the first to see!

How's the new cage working out? You inspired me to start checking Ebay myself for my GCC's next abode. :D

hehe! Thanks!

I was remiss on the pics but they ARE on my profile!

Cal uses it as a sort of play den. Likes the smaller cage for snoozing!

I wish I could have the big one in the shop but it's very very big!!!!

She has a stack of toys in the big one and swings around there like Tarzan!

There's some real good deals to be got out there for sure!

I may even look for a 3rd larger than the smaller for the shop if that makes sense?! haha

Wonderful that you shared a great resource, as I learn and prepare I'm going to check it out and do some online "wishful window shopping"

It is very much worth it Anne!

The best part about ebay and classifieds is if the cage is not up to scratch, you can refuse to buy it. But like me you could hit lucky (twice!!! haha)

Although how I'd have got out of the large one for £23.51 would have been interesting!

Funny thing is, the people I bought that one from, now pop over for coffee with their doggies! haha
