hi,i am thinking of purchasing an aluminium cage, well little aivery.
The cages i have now are about half a year now and thanks to my birds daily bathing's ,they are already rusting in the bottom.
This isn't the first time ,1 pair is on their second cage and i have my birds for 2,5 years now.
i have been thinking about saving up for ss but i have asked around and they don't really make them for conures, the closest i came was a cage off 1200 euro's that was a third since of what they have now.
Thus i thought why not just set up an aivery in my room, now what do you think?
Are their others that have done this?
Also what to use at the bottom, stones?

I once had a free flying bird room. I think to do it correctly, you'd need to spend more than buying a good cage. It is a lot of work to keep clean, even with tile/linoleum flooring.

It's weird for a cage to rust so quickly if its well made. I use mostly the standard powder coated steel type and some are quite old with no rust at all.

the cages i have are from one off the best brands there is in my country and costed me about 500 dollars a cage.

Where are you located? I'd be happy to check online and give some suggestions. Otherwise you could have them re-coated if that's an option where you are. What do you use to clean? Just misted water alone really shouldn't do that.

it is not rusting in the cage but the underpart.
i use a steam cleaner, and i am located in the netherlands.
But it is my birds bathing habit that is causing it.
