Zazu only eating veg!

hay guys, when i bought Zazu the pet shop owner told me that he was on a diet of mixed beans and veg that i should boil for 20min then give it to him so he gave me a bag of the stuff now i have been giving it to her for the 2 weeks i have had him. since i have had him i have also made a parakeet seed mix and pellets available but he has only been eating the veg mix should i not give him the veg for one day and see if he takes to the others?

Actually, seeds should only be a small part of a bird's diet, fresh veggies & fruits should make up the greater part.....I doubt Zazu & his cousins have anybody in the bush boiling veggies for them.....but I'm pretty sure the boiling is for the beans as you should not give uncooked beans to birds...some are toxic unless cooked.....
