I have a sun conure and a cinnamon connure who have closely bonded with each other. I would like to get an alexandrine but am concerned that the three birds may not get on together. The conures are used to getting a lot of attention from me and may resent time I spend with the alexandrine which I understand is a bird that also requires a lot of attention. Can anyone advise me please? Thanks

How old are your conures? If they are still young, and you get a well social baby alexandrine, it shouldn't be a big problem.

My Alex gets along with my cockatiels, they might not be best friend though, but they never fights.

Is it possible to bring your conures to the pet shop to see the alex you are getting? To see their reaction?

I did introductions today between my new Alex and my two gcc (both under 2yrs old). They just gave each other tongue kisses, so funny. There was a little toe nibble but of no consequence. They're very interested in each other, they'll never be unsupervised but even I they end up hating each other well work around it, invest in a t stand so they can all chill while you train with one.

My conures are 14 months old. The Alexandrine that i am looking at is 8 weeks old. I have concerns as I had a cockatoo who was very placid but both conures kept attacking him and I had to give him up for this reason, which was heartbreaking. I don't want the same thing to happen again. Tp

14 months is around the douchebag stage for birds, what I've experienced anyway. Misha is starting to settle down now and he's almost, but he still has a way to go. Misha has been very aggressive with other birds, namely my parents cockatiel, so I'll always be a little worried when they're out and interacting, I guess we just have to take things one day at a time.

It seems like forever! Going on a year and a half now with Misha, and it's been ups and downs, he'll be fantastic one week then devil bird for weeks. I rarely get bitten now and it's only if I accidentally piss him off (like if I touch plastic or keys near him -.-) Guapo is now entering devil bird stage but I'm not in the firing line there, only everyone else - he rips into anyone else's hand most of the time.
Just be vigilant, learn when to push training and when to stop and give them a little space, it's all based on individual personalities. But yeah, if anyone knows how hard a GCC can bite its me! If you have any worries pm me and I'll help with all I know!
