Diesel's neck ring is coming through quite strongly now. He has speckles of pink also across the back of his neck. Looks a little manky as he is moulting but by summer he will look stunning!

He was just waiting for the right time to come out & strut his finery.....must be some hen in the area that's caught his eye ! ! !
That's often the beginning of the end for us males ! ! ! We find ourselves caught & find ourselves in a life of domesticity, no more going out with the guys.....

Barney is about two years old and there's not a trace of anything by way of a ring! I cling to the fact that he's much bigger and a completely different shape to Madge. I'm in no hurry for him to get his ring, I just hope it comes eventually... The Beaks are just beginning to moult now, so I sort of thought there might be some glimpses of black or pink with the new plumage. I was a late bloomer myself, so I can sympathise. I only hope Barney-boy doesn't make me wait the full three years to be sure he's not really a Bernadette! :22_yikes:

Thanks! If you can believe it, even in the last week alone again the plumage has rocketed through even more. Will post pics soon.
