she's 4 month, she's kinda of tamed but only outside of her cage
and she doesn't seem to enjoy petting very much
oh and i wanna start training her but she doesn't know how to eat sun flower seeds and i don't know what else to use to reward her
i let her spend a lot of time with me but she's always scared when i try to touch her but once my hand gets to her she relaxes, same thing with stepping up once she's in my arm she doesn't want to step down

Twitter, 3yo greencheek conure..Paco 15yo Orangewing Amazon.
What about a tiny piece of a sunflower seed.Or a small piece of grape. I know my conure would do anything for a piece of grape.I havent found anything our New Amazon likes as a treat yet.But I know eventually he will relax and I will find that treat he will do anything for..
I dont think most birds like to be petted until they really get to know you and trust you so it could be awhile for that. This is probably wierd but I always ask our new Amazon if he wants a scritchy and put my hand up and make scratchy motions.Sometimes he puts his head down and lets me, sometimes he doesnt.I havent gotten to "pet" him yet but figure it could take months before he trusts me that much.
Anyway Ive only had my Amazon for a week so Im still a newbie too.

Sunflower seeds aren't very healthy. Try some healthy nuts like walnuts, almonds or hazelnuts. Mine loves nuts.

Yoshi - Blue Front Amazon, Ozzy - Illiger's Macaw
Our Blue Front doesn't particularly like to be petted yet either, except when he's about ready for bed time. And even that has taken some time..we've had to spend a lot of hours playing with him, singing to him, etc. for him to trust me enough to give him scratches.

I've found that if you even think your bird might be scared of you or something you're doing, it's always best to step back and give them space. They always respond better when they're choosing to do something, not being forced to.

I second Roxy's suggestion for nuts - my boy goes crazy for almonds or unsalted peanuts.

Blue Front Amazon
Ive got a 11 month old BF Amazon and I got him @ 7 months and Have had him since Thanksgiving, He has come along way in the short time, He loves to be petted on the head and around his beak. Right now he is very Moody though I think it is because he is Molting and last Night I actually scratched a pin feather on his head and he went to bite me because it was painful. It will take sometime for your baby to get comfortable but I fed mine Oatmeal and she absolutely loves it. Make some and feed it to her and maybe that is something she will enjoy you feeding her.
