Davy was playing with me, and I noticed the bottom of his feet are a little raw looking, pink and some red spots. And I read a recent post about square metal cages being bad for their feet. Davy's cage door that he sits on has a square edge on the top, but all his inside perches and on top of his cage are natural wood, in different sizes. He does sit on the open cage door quite a bit.

Does he stand on that much you think to cause an issue? I'd watch to make sure he didnt get some kind of bacterial infection. He doesn't have a concrete or other rough perch at the top part of the cage that he's sleeping on? I could see the combo causing some sore feet.

If it is the door, maybe you could wrap some vet tape on it, if it doesn't interfere with closing it?

BB never acted like his were sore. I just happen to notice the pad's were pink in the center. I Like yours BB loves to climb around the cage and will roost there on weekends. Yup square tubing. His playstand was also square tubing i have wrapped that with sisal rope. One of his main perches inside was almost fully round. Kinda big natural wood but guess it was not the best for roosting.
I would rub aloe on his foot and it seems to have helped some. Still kinda pink some days. I am also still searching for a way to modify the top of his cage where he likes to roost

I've read that pure aloe can be helpful with this. You can also try the 'HealX' sprays on bird's feet. Make sure he's varied surfaces to perch on. I let Mochi 'walk around' on floor or bed for a spell, so that the toes get a rest from being 'curled around' something all the time.
