Oh no. I hope this is not what I think it could be.

So Knuckles, my 6 month old, extremely timid Citron Crested Cockatoo was just on my shoulder. Yes, I know she shouldnt be there.... She is extremely timid, and I try and do everything I can to make her feel secure. She really enjoys being on my shoulder ( BAD Birdy Momma).

So just now, as I was scratching her head and neck, while she was on my shoulder, she suddenly turned around, pushed her but up against the side of my head, and began to quiver and coo. She was shaking all over, and leaning her head back for scritches.

Is she displaying mating behavior? (I sure hope not- I can't take much more right now) she's only six months. Isn't that too young?

Anyone know?

That sounds like a mating behavior, Dixie does it often towards us but we ignore her for it. Then Lola tries to do it to me and I put her away when she does it....
