Please dissect this interaction between my two birds?

My beautiful SI Eclectus Zephyr and my handsome B&G macaw Vandal, daughter's Sun Conure Loki and son's GCC Blaze
Edit: Added another video a couple of posts down.

This is a video of my eclectus and my son's green cheek conure. I've been working on introducing them to each other since the kids and I all like to hang out on the couch and watch a movie or somesuch with our birds.

The eclectus and my daughter's sun conure don't get along very well and it is obvious (well, at least from the sun's standpoint.. he'll rush Zephyr and bite his feet and Zephyr will fly away for a while until he works up the guts to come back and try again).

The green cheek is a lot more mild.

But can you tell me -- is my eclectus being aggressive, or trying to make friends?

I just watched it... looks like your eclectus is curious and the conure doesn't want him to be near. When Avery was introduced to a friend's conure, the exact same thing happened. It's not all out war, but a conflict of interests. Seems like Zephyr initially wanted to make friends but your son's conure said no, and it sparked a mild disagreement between them. But I could be wrong, haha.

The birds all live in my house in the same room, so they see each other a lot. Zephyr is endlessly curious about the little birds.. he is always watching them. When we have all the birds out, it is really a task to keep him away from the little ones.

We've been working a lot with playing with them when they are near each other to distract them from each other and it has helped some (with the little birds.. they don't chase him so much anymore, only if he tries to come near them).

Here's one of Loki and Zephyr from a few days ago. As you can see, Loki makes it VERY obvious that he doesn't want to be buddies but Zephyr doesn't listen.

I guess I just want to be sure he doesn't seem like he wants to hurt them. I never let them hang out together unless I am actively watching, but do you think it is okay for Zephyr to keep trying to convince them he isn't awful?

Well, obviously Loki is telling him to back off! But you know that! Lol. So I think it's best to keep them separate, if nothing else. I think Zephyr is curious of Blaze, I don't see much that makes me think he's being aggressive, and if anything Blaze is telling him to back up when he gets close.

As long as Loki doesn't charge at Zephyr from a distance I think it should be okay to have them on separate people or on separate stands. Does Loki have issues with displacement biting? (EX. Biting whoever he is standing on/close to because he doesn't like something.) If so that could be an issue, but other than that, as long as everyone's personal space is respected I think it would be okay. The biggest beak(Zephyr) seems to be the most docile of the 3! Lol!

No, thankfully Loki doesn't bite anyone else when he gets pissed off. He just does that snake head thing while he is all puffy.

He used to charge Zephyr across the length of the couch but he doesn't anymore -- he just gets mad when Zephyr tries to interact with him.

Maybe Zephyr will luck out and the new macaw will decide to play nice with him when s/he comes home. He just seems so jealous that the conures snuggle each other and he has no feathers to snuggle.
