Scary Act

My Conure (2 1/2 years old)did something very new to me and VERY scary that I’m hoping I can get some advice.
I had him on his playground in the living room and I was in the kitchen. He flew to me (like always) and I walked him back to the playground where he stepped on a perch. I sat down on the couch and noticed that he was standing with wings back and away from his body; but the outer wings were not open. Same posture as when pooping but he held that pose for about ten seconds.

He then started moving his body like a caterpillar. Kind of like in waves. Then vent went up in the air for a couple seconds. He then proceeded to act drunk like. He wobbled onto other perches and seemed to almost fall over. He was stumbling a lot and his body was quivering. His balance seemed off. He came to me but was still “out of it”. The entire incident was about one minute. Ten minutes later and he seems fine now as he is sitting on my shoulder.

I am very familiar with his hormone antics of humping toys, perches, etc. This was nothing like that. It almost looked like he was having a seizure?
Right now he refuses to go back on that playground. He is sticking with me. His breathing and motions seem normal. I put him on his upstairs playground and he is eating and starting to play.

Scared the hell out of me. Any suggestions? Thanks.

That is odd. I would call the vet and explain what happened-- if he had a seizure, he may need to get on meds to prevent them in the future...plus, if there is something that caused it, that would be important to know as well.

Noodles reportedly had a seizure once (still not convinced...but that is what a vet said). In her case, I think it was hormonal, but the vet swore it was a seizure, and I wasn't in the room to see it, so I am not sure.

I would say that was a seizure. My Kakariki Inca has seizures and some behaviour described is the same. In my case the bird will freeze for several seconds totally unresponsive and then the stumbling and seeming drunk. Definitely need to confirm with a CAV in my opinion. If it happens again record it on your phone so you have something to show the vet.

Looked like seizues , I have experiences the same with my African Grey , for me might be something from the foods she had(old foods on plate), she had some acts like slow moving with wagging legs and touture body just half minute only once and never happened again .
