New here and lost my conure

Hello everyone, I've just joined because I was hoping to find a community and possibly resources on how to cope with the loss of my beloved green-cheeked conure. He was 8 months old and died suddenly overnight a couple of days ago. I am waiting on the necropsy report to find out the cause of his death. It's been very hard for me. Many people think that somehow loosing a bird is not such a big deal but I've been crying non-stop and I don't know how to get over this. There will be no other one like him.

I’m so sorry for your loss I feel like it is almost more difficult not knowing what happened. Birds infiltrate your heart and cause a a chasm when they’re no longer part of your life. I hope you can find some solace.

This is a great community, you’ll find.

Re: New here and lost my conure

Welcome to the Forums, Lisa999, but I am so sorry for the distressing circumstances that have brought you to us, you have my deepest sympathies. Most of us in this community have experienced similar sudden or unexpected loss like yours and understand your grief only too well, I know I do. I hope the necropsy will bring at least some measure of comfort and closure for you. Sending healing thoughts and feathered hugs your way Lisa, I am so very sorry for your loss.

Godspeed to the Rainbow Bridge precious little one, until we meet again.

Sorry for your loss Lisa. Perhaps those who think loosing a bird is not such a big deal never owned nor loved such a wonderful life-time companion. We can empathize with your deep grief due to the loss of such a special companion. Please stay around the forum and meet some new friends here who truly care.

Re: New here and lost my conure

My deepest condolences for the passing of your conure. Sudden losses are particularly devastating when young. May his precious memories bring you comfort and ease despair over time.

Many of us have loved and lost parrots, there is no timeline or arc to the grieving process. A caring support system of family of friends is enormously helpful. We are here for you.
