I have a mouth. Not a beak.

Jet keeps putting his beak on my chin with his head down. I think he wants me to preen him. I try to give scritches with my hands but he seems to want me to preen him with my "beak".

Silly confused tiel.

It does sound like he wants you to preen him with your beak lol! I think it's adorable watching birds preen each other, and when they're giving the other a hint like that :).

My birds have done this too, I'll usually nuzzle them and make kissy noises and tell them how pretty they are, good bird, etc! I think it's adorable when they try to preen people too, though my previous GCC was insistent that my freckles shouldn't be there, and my cockatiel is obsessed with my one shirt, that the design shouldn't be there and that it needs to come off!

I love it when my cockatiel does this :) (i recon it must be a cockatiel thing). It seems to satisfy them if you rub their feathers on your cheek, lol :p. Anyway i hope all is well with jet. :D

Things are good with Jet. For three weeks after Rex joined us he quit talking. He started talking again a few days ago.

Rex has taken to perching on my head. He does also try to land on my glasses and my foreheads all scratched up.

Everyone gets along great and preens each other.

The tiels and the budgies share their cages during the day.

At night the budgies have one cage and the tiels have another.

I gave them a bunch of new perches and toys yesterday.

The tiels have been sleeping on their pedi perch.

You're fortunate :). It's nice to have harmony within the flock. Many of us wish we can say the same!

Have you tried to preen him with your beak to see how he reacts? That is so cute!
And my word! I read your post and it turned a lightbulb on! Venus puts her head against my cheek and stays there. I'll rub her head and then she regurgitates (yuck). I think you revealed what's going on in my flock, lol.

Zoe pushes her face and head into my face and hands all the time trying to get me to give her scritches. And she gets really mad if I don't do it lol. Sometimes she has a particular way she'd like me to do it and she gets mad if I don't do it that way. She bullies me into it and then gets mad at me if I do it wrong haha.

Thankfully noone has regurgitated on me. Then again we are still bonding.

The few times Jet lets me touch him he gets mad if I don't do it right too.

Jet is the only one who lets me touch him.

They all land on me and help themselves to my food.

One of my biggest concerns when I got Rex was if they would get along.
