How old are they and gender of my budgie?

Hello ! I am new here please tell me the age and gender of my budgies. Left one is Tina and the right one is Neon

I wish I knew how to help but they are super cute and so are the names. I especially like Tina...looks like a kind soul.

They look pretty young to me (older budgies have more wrinkles in the ceres-area).

I am also thinking the same. I think about 4 -6 month? Can you tell gender?

They are both still pretty young, you can tell by how close the black-stripes on their foreheads still are to their ceres. The further away the black-stripes are from their cere and the more solid-color their foreheads have, the older they are...I'd say that they are between 4-6 months old...

As far as their genders, they are too young to know for sure, as the color of their ceres can change up to about a year or so old. So you won't be able to know their genders for certain for another 6-8 months from now...If I were to sex them right now, the Budgie on the left in the photo would be a female (blue cere with white rings around each nostril), and the Budgie on the right in the photo would probably be male, because it looks like his cere is changing from the common pink that most babies have to solid blue, though the cere is right in the middle of the color-change, so it's really hard to say on that one. But again, they are both far too young to tell their genders visually, you'd have to have a DNA-test done to know for certain at this point...If you wait another 6 months and then take new photos and post them, then we can definitely sex them for certain...

Male Budgies: Males have ceres that are either solid blue, solid purple, or solid pink.

Female Budgies: Females have ceres that are either solid white, solid, tan, solid brown, or blue with white rings around each nostril.

They are still too young to know their gender but as they get older their cere will begin to get its color. If the cere turns pink or brown then its a female but if it turns blue or purple then its a male.

I will wait for 6- 8 month ..

That's actually incorrect...If their cere stays or turns solid pink, solid, blue, or solid purple, they are male...If they turn solid white, solid tan, or solid brown, or they turn blue with white rings around each nostril, they are female...These only apply after they are at least 1 year old...

***A very common misconception about sexing a Budgie is a pink cere, as most-all Budgies are born and retain a solid pink cere until it either changes to a different color, or it stays solid pink which indicates they are male, not female...The other one that is commonly mistaken are females that have a bright blue cere with white rings around each nostril. People see a blue cere and automatically think they are male, but if there are white rings around the nostrils it's a female...

Thank you for sharing this wonderfull information. I really think that pink means girl and I had never listen about blue cere with white nostril, so thank you so much again

I'd say their younger than six months. their ceres appear to be turning blue and a blue cere means they are male but cere's only change color at about 4-6 months. also have your budgies molted yet? if so they are at least 4 months old
