Does anyone have a cage that has a divider of some sort on it, so that you can house multiple birds in it? I've been having a hard time finding a good decent priced one lately.

If you are looking for a cage to keep your suns in, your divider may need to be solid as a determined pair can find ways to mate if they really want to.....if it's to house different species of birds, that can be a problem as toes through an adjoining cage wall can be subject to being bitten off & even a foot possibly pulled through & severely bitten.....

I don't know what kind of cages you've been looking at or what pricing, but if they're going to be for conures, you might do a google image search for...bird breeder cages.....if you are looking at large floor cages, you may have to do your own modifications.....

Good luck.....

Those cages are available as a duplex, rather than a quad, letting you expand as you need to.....the stacking frames are available separately also.....

You might want to koo at other brands, the link you posted, shows a quad with only two access doors, one for each cage.....there are cages that look basically the same, but have a door for each compartment, food & water cups need to be available in each compartment also.....

Hmmm, too many choices.....do you have similar problems clothes shopping ? ? ?

Haha clothes shopping is soo much easier. I'm thinking of waiting another month to go to my local bird mart to get one.

I have a double flight cage from A&E (I think - sand color)
AE Double Flight Cage - Presented by BirdsComfort.com

Although I have been thinking about selling it for the double stacked cage instead (possible space constraints - or a triple stack if I were to get another bird...)

Another option.... (except I don't recommend using open top doors)
Split Bird Cage with Divider - Presented by BirdsComfort.com

And there is also this style...

I like all of them, though I'm thinking that the stacked ones may be better since It will be easier to move in and out of the house for cleaning. I may be getting a breeding pair of greencheeks soon, or a baby sun/or greencheek conure. So maybe the stacked one would be better considering toes and beaks meeting.

What is your reasoning for separating them? Are they fighting or trying to mate? A cage divider isn't necessarily going to stop either of those things from happening. I personally would not go with a stacking cage either, since they would no longer be able to see each other, and the potential for the bird on top picking up some negative height-dominance related behaviors. My mom keeps her male and female zon in separate, identical cages. The cages right next to each other, only about 2" apart. That way, the birds can still see each other when their in their cages, but they can't get in an argument (which happens from time to time) when no one is around to break it up. I would look into 2 identical cages, so they can be separate, but also still have visual contact with each other and no potential for negative behaviors from one being in the more desirable top cage.

I'm not trying to seperate them, they currently live together and never fight. I'm just looking to have a spare cage incase we bring another bird home anytime soon. Their cage is getting old and really dirty so a new one is in order. I never thought about buying two identical cages, but it's a good idea.
