Travel Cage

So its been a VERY long time since I've posted anything here, but I'm still a frequent lurker. But I was hoping you guys could help me with a question about travel cages.

In July I'm going about 4 hours away to visit family for a week. Originally we were going to have a friend of mine watch the animals during this time, and while this friend is good with the cats, fish and reptiles, Lizzy (my GCC) abolutely HATES her. Now granted she's like this with most new people, but this friend comes over multiple times a week ever since we've known each other (at least 3 years. only had Lizzy for 1 though) and has tried to get on Lizzy's good side. No luck though :/ So now the plan is to take Lizzy with me on vacation.

My question is this, what would be a good size cage to bring down with me? We're bringing her playstand too, so whenever i'm in the house, she'll be out on it. And she likes my mom (eventhough she's seen her only twice...) so Mom will be able to play with her. Mostly the cage will be for sleeping, but I do want something roomy enough for her to play in when she is in it. I don't plan on using the cage too much after this since its not often i get more than a few days off work.

TL;DR
I need a cage for a week of vacation with a green cheek conure.
Has to be easy to carry and small enough to fit into a car, but roomy enough so she doesnt feel cramped and can play in it.

Thanks!

Have you looked on line? You should be able to find a wide range of choices.

I have this one ImageUploadedByTapatalk1431791222.008243.jpg. I picked it up on Amazon. It is heavy (20 lbs) but my conure LOVES it.

I take her on overnight trips in this and we also use this as her sleep cage. It was about $100. I actually like the quality better than her regular cage.

Thanks :) the cage looks nice and looks to be spot on for what I need. Price is a bit steep, but I'll see if the wife will go halves with me (Lizzy owns me so deal was I'd get all her stuff).

I'll have to ask my friend if she wants to try working with her more before we leave. Just to see if that's an option. Read the threads you linked and you and Bongo made great progress, but in the end it's up to my friend if she wants to try this.

Thanks for the replies!

I have The same kind of travel cage. I ended up changing out the handle cause it tore up my hand. Now my Alex loves sitting on it. It is heavy yet designed to come apart and put back together when needed however we found it uncooperative so we just leave it assembled.

I leave it assembled as well because she sleeps in it. I've really found i enjoy having 2 cages for her.

I can clean her day cage at my leisure during the evening. Then when she wakes up it is fresh and ready to go. It's also nice for her to know it's bedtime. She has her routine now and seems to like going up to bed. [emoji5]️
