Help Upgrading Cage for Amazon

Hello!

I've had my Double Yellow-headed Amazon & her cage for 17 years now. I am now shopping for a new cage to get her a bigger one than the 24" wide she's been in. So I am looking at 32" because that is what I can afford at the moment and unfortunately, it does not look like I will be able to afford a stainless steel like I really wanted so powder coated will have to do.

I am surprised that the Prevue Hendryx powder coated cage I bought when I took her home has lasted this long so I am pretty happy with the brand. But any other recommendations for good quality brands that will not break the bank are much appreciated! I am also looking at King's Cages which cost more but if it's better quality, it's worth a little more.

I have a dome top Kings cage with those dimensions. I love it. I found the best price at Bonka Bird toys. I also have an HQ cage that is exactly the same besides the locks which are slightly different. Both are excellent.

We also have a DYH Amazon and over the years we have purchased several cages from Bird Cages 4 Less and have always been very happy with them! They sell only Bird Cages and Cage Components, and their shipping group knows what is included with each cage.

FYI-1: Remember that Amazons really do not like stuff that just shows up, so bring the boxes into the room and over a couple of days, unpack them. Have your Amazon be part of the process of un-packing and more importantly the assembly of the cage.

FYI-2: Assembly the cage up-side-down, you will find that getting stuff to line up is much easier! Especially, the installation of the wheels!

What about on Ebay? Years ago a bought one similar to this (brand new-free shipping) on Ebay for around $150 for my OW Amazon. Had her in there for years and she loved it. Was easy to put together and was well constructed.

One of the most important thing that far too many individuals miss is the size of the Primary Door opening! Getting the Parrot in and out, and everything else, including cleaning is so much easier if you target a full height door! These half to 2/3 size doors may save you a few pennies over the life of the cage, but will never provide the easy of access that full height doors provide - as I had listed as part of my earlier Post to this Thread.
