It's well known among Quaker parrot parronts that Quakers do not like red, or at least, many don't. I love red, but have learned to buy red clothing only for wearing to work and not at home where my tiny dictators will bite and shriek at me for wearing it.

Last night, I learned that green plaid is against the U2 Code of Clothing. I had a newish green plaid shirt that I hadn't worn where Rocky could see it because it's fall weight and we haven't had fall temps until the last few days. Rocky went ballistic over that shirt and not in a good way. He chomped my arm, he tried to destroy the shirt, he squawked at me. Okay, okay. No more green plaid shirt around Rocky.

It's crazy that when I go clothes shopping, I have to ask myself, "Will the birds let me wear this?"

LOL mine hates a blue button up shirt that I have----patterns aren't that much of an issue, but if her mood is rocky, she will always chomp me in that shirt (whether angry or not).

I haven't noticed problems with clothing so far. Most of mine love to chew holes and remove buttons!

I guess it’s safe to say that Bianca hates shoes. I wonder if she’s been kicked by an abusive owner in the past.

Rocky also hates Chuck Taylor shoes. I can't wear those around him. Hubby gave him an old one when he got a new pair and Rocky absolutely destroyed it and not just cockatoo chewing up a thing. He murdered that shoe and was angry and violent about it. I suspect one was thrown at him or he was kicked in a former home.

My conures are very forgiving about clothing colours, but I have discovered that my fleece pants with polar bears on them are absolutely off limits. Can’t get a conure near me in those things

At the parrot rescue I normally wear very neutral clothes, but she needed help on a day that I don’t normally go and I went straight from work and was wearing a patterned skirt. A normally very friendly cockatoo punched a large hole through my thumb - apparently stripes were not her thing.

I made the mistake of grabbing a different set of gloves when I headed out to the barn one day and my turkey toms went after my hands....haven’t worn my red gardening gloves to the barn since!

I came to the conclusion that birds are the “fashion police”.

Lol I second none like red in my house. Wearing my glasses is iffy. And I cant wear a bandage or bandaid! They will be ripped off me. I have to laugh because my GCC is doing this to save my life ! It's obvious she is scared but in her mind I'm being attacked or eaten by this bandage, and she's like not on my watch!!! I will save you or die trying, bless her.

My conures do, too!

I got a haircut and the conures preen it constantly. Sherman lunged at me the first time in weeks.

You have never seen a bird get so stressed out as Sherman when I wear red. The budgies just don't care. Glenn hates plaid... any color.
