Alright, it's official..

my cuddle machine of an african grey is officially talking now; it's no secret
he's great at imitating us (picking up whistles from me, my sister, and old-
man, and copying the door bell sound). i've heard him "practicing" his vocab
a lot but never heard anything clear until today. as i was getting ready to
leave the house, i heard a crystal clear word coming from his area (no one
was around). i'm not a hundred percent sure what it was, but i think i heard
him say "helloo." i was then told that, apparently, he's been doing it a lot but
i don't seem to be around when he does, lol. anyway, i'm glad he's starting
to use words now instead of just whistles. he's also molting and his new
feathers are coming in nicely..... but some get ruined before they're fully
grown. compliments of his clumsiness.

oh and while i'm on the subject of "talking," i'd like to also point out that
my lovie Cloud picked up my kissy sounds, which he keeps doing back to me
or when i press my lips on him, and he keeps shouting "YEEW!" (happy tone)
when he's.. well..... messing around, or having a conversation with someone. -.-

Pepper has been saying Hello too!
She is four, and didn't talk much at her other house, but her previous owner thought it was because she was around birds and being around only people here in her new home might bring out some vocabulary. This is our second week and she's becoming a lot more vocal! It's so interesting all the different noises!

I left out Cloud ! How is that adorable baby doing ?
I remember the his color was so gorgeous , can you post a new picture for us ?
Its so funny to listen to them making all kinds of noises when they don't know your listening....its just not the same when they know your there listening...they never make the same noises !

thank you. i seem to have my camera (phone duh) ready everytime
something funny happens. then again, i've been meaning to take a photo of
klaus while he's enjoying his 24/7 head scratches. he just doesn't want any-
thing else from my hands besides that.

i was actually getting worried that he may not talk (not really important),
since i've seen and had greys that were talking at 2-3 months old. but, after
doing some research to put my mind at ease i learned that greys on average
start talking at around 2 years old. if my calculations are right, he's i think
about a year and four months old now!

Cloud's doing greaaat. he's so hyper and annoying haha. one moment he just
wants to cuddle, then suddenly he runs away and just wants to mess around.
i guess i'm lucky that cloud feels comfortable around me, which is when he
starts making all these cute noises of his. when he's alone, he's usually
chirping and stuff. i promise i'll post up some recent photos of him soon!

and it's good to be back.

alright, just took these.. and a couple of cloud which will be up soon.
klaus was a bit pissed coz his nemesis, the water bottle of doom, was nearby. ;p

I need to get you a video of Chloe doing her bomb dropping..... you ever see those cartoons of Wiley coyote and road runner...then he falls off a cliff ? She does that...and I'm trying to teach her the splat sound but it sounds like a fart LOL!

lol i need to get him to do that too. it's one of my fave things to hear a parrot do. ;D
and klaus is actually whistling fine around me and others now. he just needs to get
comfortable with talking before doing it infront of everyone.

That's awesome! Jasper shocked me recently with "peek-a-boo". I have been playing it with him alot trying to make a game out of towels so they don't freak him out. I was sitting here one morning and out of the blue "peek-a-boo". He hasn't said anything else since though though he does seem to practice quite a bit.

They are crazy about picking up whistles and sounds for sure. Lately Jasper has been trying to do the beeping my phone makes when I dial. Yesterday one of my cats was doing alot of crazy stuff so I was taking alot of pictures of him. Later that day guess what: everytime I picked up my phone Jasper started doing the "boopboop" sound it makes before a picture is taken. He also does the bombdrop but sometimes when I whistle it he will do the splat before Im done whistling lol.

Klaus is a handsome guy, I love seeing his pictures.
