I have honestly never been so distraught. Barely ate or slept for 5 days, walking around looking for him from 5/6am through til it got dark. Posted over 100 flyers locally and luckily loads of neighbours began leaving cups of tea (his favourite) in their gardens, looking for him or just ringing me to see whether he was home yet.

After a few days we stopped hearing him and I had to accept that he might have died. Just as I was beginning to lose hope we got a phone call from a vet I had alerted to say that he had been found the night before and picked up by a wildlife rescue.

I drove like a crazy person to the rescue centre and there he was, thin, bedraggled and fairly sunburned but none the less definitely Ben. He looked so pathetic but as soon as he saw us just went "...hello..." and launched himself at us. It was the best moment with him to get him home.

Safe to say he's never being given the slightest opportunity to escape ever again!
I have heard stories of birds getting away and going missing and it scares me to death. I hope that never happens to Picasso. I know he is an animal, but how scary to imagine him out there alone in that great big world!

There are so many, they make your day. Right now Jasper is on my shoulder preening my hair. I love when they do silly things to make you laugh.
