A New Morning Routine

I have a morning routine that I adhere to with a fair amount of strictness.....not counting my Freckles, I have three dogs and six cats (all rescues/failed fosters)......so for everyone to get their breakfast and me to get ready and out the door (I'm an accountant for a large concrete production company).......we need to do things a certain way and in a certain order. Yes, well......that changed last week, thank you Freckles. Walking by her cage after cleaning the morning litter box offerings, she took a flying leap for my shoulder......not a problem, her fruit bowl/breakfast was next, so a ride along wasn't a big deal. The help she provided in the kitchen.....a WHOLE OTHER STORY. Freckles has now added the sound of the drip coffee maker to her repertoire AND knows which canister holds her parrot chow AND how to get the lid off. I now find myself getting up an hour earlier just so she can "assist". Her morning fruit cup consists of pineapple, mango, mandarin oranges and grapes. She likes to select the grapes herself and will lay them on the chopping block for me to dice.....all the while snitching a bite here and there. Last night, I was putting together a chowder for the crock pot.....lots of help, lots and lots of help. So now......if she even thinks I'm heading for the kitchen......she's hot on my tail. I've set up an area for her.....now, if I could just find a teeny tiny apron. Have I mentioned that I love this crazy bird???

Haha that's great! I also have a morning routine in my house and it is just needed when you have animals -- I have one doberman, 2 cats, 2 birds and a tank of fish. I get up, brush my teeth and pop my contacts in as the cats slink around my feet and meow at me until I feed them. Then I let the dog out. Then the fishtank lights get turned on, the birds get uncovered and get their breakfast. Dog comes back in and I get ready for work!

My morning routine revolves around my animals, my wife doesn't understand why I get up so early. Get up, get dressed, take dogs out. We don't have a fenced in yard, so they have to be taken out on leashes and it is still a bit chilly to take them out in a nightgown, so getting dressed is a dreaded necessity. Then preparing breakfast for all 6 fids. Serving breakfast, because I'm really just their slave, but it's okay, I've come to accept it. Clean water bowls. Open curtains in the bird room. Then maybe I get a cup of coffee if I'm lucky.

LOL...awww I love you Freckles!..See?? your life would be so mundane without little Freckles giving you a helping..beak?
Amy just sits and waits for me,and if I am too slow for her liking,she'll yell in her nummy bowl "FOOD!!...FOOD!!" then laugh an Amazon laugh,just to hear own voice echo inside her bowl.
She gets her point across Yes your Majesty,brekky is on the way!
