Hi there,

The UK can only be described as having weather, lots of it.. It rains/snows in winter, in the summer the rain is just warmer, and in the same day it can be hot and dry for us, 22-35degC. Now you know why the UK is so incredibly beautiful and green, so im not complaining. As such, Enzo doesnt get the outside she deserves, if she is outside she is generally in her small travel cage 75cm x 40cm x 40cm, so no room to stretch her wings, this feels bad.

Ive been doing a lot of work outside my small house and have got the main bits done, shed (aka man cave). patio, car park etc. I would love to have an outdoor area for her, maybe 2.5x1.5m and 2m tall and permanently fixed, although a friend who keeps parrots and pigeons suggested a little smaller and on wheels so I can move it about as necessary. Space is a premium in my garden as I have a patch left that's maybe 15m x5m at its widest, and its triangular!

Security is always an issue with parrots, birds of prey are prevalent around here especially as i live in a rural village and next to woodland (hawks, buzzards, kestrels, falcons and owls), people do walk passed the house to go fishing in the lake or just going for a walk with the dogs. So I wouldnt be looking at the outside area for enzo to spend all day/night, just as somewhere she can be with us whilst we are also outside...enjoying the warm rain :D

Any thoughts on suggestions on how you would deal with this please?

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Do you have an enclosed area behind your house, what we in the U.S. refer as a "backyard?" A large wheeled cage might be best. Cannot recall if Enzo has clipped wings, if so a structure with top clamshell doors that are propped open with a perch might suffice?

Thanks Guys, ill be going to Leicestershire soon to get a tracker fitted to my new bike, ill pop into to AVIfabs, awesome.

Scott, she is fully flighted, which my door frames and various other wooden items in my house can confirm (gggrrrrr).

I take her out a lot of the time when im outside in my garden, or driveway etc. but only in her little travel cage which is not great. A larger cage/flight would be perfect. maybe one of these, although no shelter from the sun in its state.

Those are nice and commodious outdoor cages! Perhaps you can shade with overhead canopy? Something not touching the top of cage to be drawn inside and chewed!
