- Enzo - adopted Female CAG circa 2004. A truly amazing young lady!
Hi there,
The UK can only be described as having weather, lots of it.. It rains/snows in winter, in the summer the rain is just warmer, and in the same day it can be hot and dry for us, 22-35degC. Now you know why the UK is so incredibly beautiful and green, so im not complaining. As such, Enzo doesnt get the outside she deserves, if she is outside she is generally in her small travel cage 75cm x 40cm x 40cm, so no room to stretch her wings, this feels bad.
Ive been doing a lot of work outside my small house and have got the main bits done, shed (aka man cave). patio, car park etc. I would love to have an outdoor area for her, maybe 2.5x1.5m and 2m tall and permanently fixed, although a friend who keeps parrots and pigeons suggested a little smaller and on wheels so I can move it about as necessary. Space is a premium in my garden as I have a patch left that's maybe 15m x5m at its widest, and its triangular!
Security is always an issue with parrots, birds of prey are prevalent around here especially as i live in a rural village and next to woodland (hawks, buzzards, kestrels, falcons and owls), people do walk passed the house to go fishing in the lake or just going for a walk with the dogs. So I wouldnt be looking at the outside area for enzo to spend all day/night, just as somewhere she can be with us whilst we are also outside...enjoying the warm rain
Any thoughts on suggestions on how you would deal with this please?
