I have some of the baby links and a rattle and was thinking about hanging some in the bird's cage. Is this safe or could these hurt my baby? Other than that we have 3 perches(one wooden, one rope, and one cement like perch, and we have different type of toys. Some wooden toys some rope shredding toys too. We are going to get some mineral blocks and cuttle bone closer to when the baby gets home. Does this sound good? Oh and we have 2 sets of food/water dishes.

My lovely little Black Cap Conure, Lucy (in the sky with diamonds) <3
Generally if it is safe for a human infant, it's safe for a bird, provided it's not filled with anything harmful like the rattles and keys that you can freeze or anything that can be easily swallowed. I've been searching for plain baby keys since I got my conure but I just can't seem to find them anywhere!
For specifically bird toys, I suggest shreddable toys, my conure and I've noticed birds in general are feathers of mass destruction when it comes to something that can give under a bored beak! Lucy has 3 shredder toys hanging in her cage right now along with some gardenia branches with the leaves still on them :)
Be careful with rope toys, I have one in Lucy's cage and one in Bleu's as well, but I always check them for frays, loops, and anything that can be potentially harmful. There's many horror stories on here about birds hanging themselves on loose loops :(
I think a cuttle bone is optional with conures :) Just for reference, in case your baby isn't a fan of it (my conure wasn't a fan of hers, but some of her siblings love them lol)
Two sets of dishes is great! I love having a secondary set to swap out when I just don't have the time in between classes to do all the dishes and feed the birds!

Congrats on your new baby! I've come to learn there's nothing quite like a bird for a companion <3 My fids have filled the void I've felt for a long time :) Smarter than a dog, cuddlier than a cat, and just as much, if not more personality than most people I know :)

There is some type of set of rings many people have bought for their birds, and some have managed to get their heads stuck and were strangled. So just look very carefully at anything like that. If the whole bird can pass through the rings without getting stuck, then they are probably safe. Or if they are too small to even get their heads into at all. Remember, animals often manage to get themselves stuck in things we never thought they could!

Well the links she could probably get stuck in if she tried there big enough to get her head through definetely but not big enough to get her whole body through. So i'll have to use these as outside the cage toys I guess than. Once she gets here and we spend time together i'll be able to learn more of what she likes.

I can't wait to bring her home! She was almost 8 weeks when we went to visit her and the breeder keeps her regardless until she is 10 weeks and more if she hasn't weaned. So I am hoping to get a call soon that she's almost ready. The breeder will call me a week before to let me know she's almost ready. So now we just wait for the call...

Must be the rings we got! My husband put them in her cage the other day, I walked in this morning and she had her head stuck in one and was trying to wrestle her way out. I reached in and tried to help, got a good nip in the process(only because she was so scared not because she is aggressive) but I got her unstuck and the rings came out of her cage immediately.

I wish Damien was interested in toys. Perhaps I just haven't found the right ones yet. But so far he doesn't even acknowledge them lol is that a bad sign??

When we first got JJ she wanted nothing to do with toys she only has 2 she plays with out of 6 in her cage. JJ doesn't acknowledge any other toy than the two she plays with either. Maybe you need to try something else to peek your baby's interest.

I don't think she was playing with the baby links I think she was climbing on them and got her head stuck.
