My Yellow-Sided Green Cheek Conure

I am hopefully getting a yellow-sided green cheek in May/June or around there. I am going to get this cage for him/her.[ame=http://www.amazon.com/Prevue-Products-Wrought-F040-31-Inch/dp/B00176F5L0]Amazon.com: Prevue Pet Products Wrought Iron Flight Cage with Stand F040 Black Bird Cage, 31-Inch by 20-1/2-Inch by 53-Inch: Pet Supplies[/ame]

And here are some names:

- Sundai if male
- Eclipse if female

The name Eclipse is what inspired this user name;)
Please tell me what I need to know as I might have missed something in my almost a year research.

good luck! thats a great cage and love the names! they are very fun and sweet birds just be prepared for messes and spending lots of time with him/her! Also diet is important I see so many people feed all seed diets to parrots and its just not healthy. I feed my GCC a seed/pellet mix from pet store and fresh fruits and veggies every day! just no avocados!! And cooked beans are always good!

ya instead of a yellow sided I am getting a regular one for $200 [ that includes DNA testing] It will take longer than planned. Way longer but I'm sure it will pay off. I will have a $100 by July and $70 by about the time I thought it would take for everything. Then it will be $30 more to the price for the bird. Amazon keeps lowering the price it used to be $135. So maybe it will be $100 by the time I buy one. That would be cool. Then toys and perches which will be less then $50 if not that price. I am excited. Instead of Sundai if male, it will be Cobalt.

this will be a former cage and then I will save up for the flight cage and then upgrade my budgie to this former cage cuz it would be huge if it is ok for her.

it would be ok but not for long it would need to be upgraded as soon as you could. Also I dot know where you live but there are always cages for sale super cheap on ebayclassifieds.com hoobly.com and craigslist.com where I live I have never paid more than $100 for any of my cages cause I get them on those sites and my biggest cage is 4' high, 3 and 1/2 feet wide, 3' deep and I have gotten a bit bigger than the last one you just posted for $35 and all are in great condition just clean them after you get them and most are great!!

can u link the website for that cage? I want the best for my baby until I can upgrade and I think that one will be good enough. I want to get lots of advice from breeders about cages. And what do u mean "clean them"? It is just the way u phrase the words. I know what u mean bit it is hard to put in words an I don't know that I am correct.

yes you could just make sure to spend as much time out of cage as possible and get a bigger cage as soon as you can but it will be fine for a little while.

yes school is a big nusianse but as soon as I get home and possibly before I go to school but that is unlikley. My dad and my dog have to wake me up in order to make it there on time although I have my parakeet out while I get dressed.... but yeah basically from the time I get home to the time beyond it until my bedtime. Only pausing to eat cuz my dogs would injure him/her or worse.

the breeder emailed me and said DNA testing is $25 instead of $50. Then the price of the green cheek and DNA testing together is $175! Now I won't have to wait as long as I thought I would!!!!!

Ok so here's the thing: I am going to have 70 extra dollars after I buy the former cage should I just go for the flight or go with original plan so I don't have to wait as long?!

Idk how much longer I have to wait. Even if I don't get straight As this quarter or the next I am willing to wait if it means getting one of the more outgoing ones!
