Blue Crown Conure
I have Yuko my Blue Crown Conure and for the most part she is quiet. She talks some and very rarely does the Conure scream. My girlfriend was thinking about getting her a Blue Crown or a Sun conure. With there being more than one conure in the room would it cause them to be loud of there was two in separate cages?

For the most part, mine are not noisy until I come home or one of them hears something outside, then they may all get involved. Many times I have to take the phone outside or to my room to answer it.....It is nice not living in a townhouse, condo, apartment or right next to your neighbors though.....you don't have to listen to them gripe.....

My 2 conures are side by side in cages. The things that really get them going is anyone coming to the door since they can see out the window and when the dogs bark (which is VERY often) they start screaming with them. But that also goes hand in hand with someone at the door or the mailman. My BCC is really loud, screams a lot and talks a lot. I am jealous that your Yuko is quiet! They still are no match for our Amazon though. She wins hands down.

There's no telling how a second bird will cause the first one to react. I have heard both things... birds are louder or birds are quieter.

I got my two conures at the same time and they are pretty noisy some days but other days they might just give the odd coo to remind you they are there. i recently looked after a friends kak and they were the quietest ive ever heard them. So as someone already mentioned there is no way to tell which way (if any) it will go.

I have 1 blue crown and 3 green cheeks. The blue crown was the latest addition, fearing the GCCs would all scream in jealousy (but they didn't). I used to have parrotlets with the (then-newly acquired) GCCs and the GCCs would scream every time I went to play with the parrotlets, which is why I worried they would not get along with the BCC.

Early on, after getting the blue crown, it would scream at times and the GCCs would not chime in. Or the GCCs would scream and the blue crown would just sit there, waiting for the sun to supernova or something.

Now that the blue crown is bonding to me, like all the others have, they all chime up in unison. But they still don't call back and forth to each other, which is amazing... but then, all of them are typically quiet, and when one calls out the others just don't follow.

Oh, I live in an apartment... the BCC's typical scream is on par with the three GCCs' loudest. The BCC tends to be quieter on average, unless he's really onto something. If I had a sun (never in an apartment) I could fathom the BCC trying to compete, to match a sun's level...

Your situation may vary... especially as Suns are far louder, and far more frequent with vocalizing in general... the BCC might pick up on that and start doing the same things... (As was said, the only way to know is to try -- is there a return policy if things don't work out?)

We have a Quaker and a Blue Crowned Conure. The Quaker makes a lot more noise than the conure. When the Blue Crown was in quarantine he didn't really make much noise other than talking. Now that they are in the same room, they usually start calling around 1 and 5:30 and it can be very loud. I don't mind it, but the rest of the family does take exception to their noisy periods. There is no way I could talk on the phone in the same room with them when they are noisy--I wouldn't be able to hear a thing!
