I can't believe it. I have a sun (Zeus) that was previously owned by someone and they took them back to the pet store because they could not handle the bird. It has been a rough road with Zeus. I sit and talk to him daily. I have been trying to take my time. Zeus has been so timid and shy. I not sure what happen before I got him. But ....... This is sooo Funny. I was sitting on the floor by the cage just talking to him. I usually remember to take my gum out of my mouth because I don't want to scare him. (Gum addict) without thinking about it I was blowing bubbles. And then I realized Zeus was on the side of the cage right beside my face. I realized he want to see what it was so I kept doing it. So I kept it up. Next thing I knew he was on my shoulder. I know this isn't the way I should be getting him to come to me. And I am not doing big ones so that he can not get ahold of them. But for two days I just go up to his cage and put my shoulder near it and start blowing bubbles and here he comes. LOL:D

That's amazing! Seriously. It's funny, but really great at the same time. He may have been curious in the begining (I'm sure he still is), but this has also taught him he can trust you being on your shoulder.

Whatever works! Now, that you've caught his interest, and trust, go from there.

Thanks! I really glad i came to this forum. I had almost given up till I found out I was doing everything wrong. Now I have two wonderful friends. Athena and Zeus. I'm glad I didn't give up on the little guy.

That is really cute!! I used to wear a particular headband when i was going to be around birds who didn't know me. Sounds nuts, but i had this amazingly cheesy headband for christmas, that was tinsel with bells on it. I kind of bought it as a gag, but i would put it on and wiggle my head around and sparkle and jingle and i almost never met a parrot who wouldn't come right up to me when i wore it. hahaha
