Hey all,

So today I came home for lunch and of course can't NOT get one of my birds out to play. Today I decided to get Franklin out for lunch with me.

I also wanted to check my email, so grabbed my laptop, set laptop on my crossed leg and arm of chair...Franklin saw the "cave" under the laptop and went for an exploration.

Now, any time Franklin get's under something, especially his cage paper, he jibber jabbers, mostly a bunch of garbled quiet conure chatter with random grunts (those of you with green cheeks probably know what I'm talking about) he chatters on with a few coherent words mixed in.....today...I wish I had a video running!

My boy SHOCKED me with his clear as a bell, dead on vocabulary that he's been keeping secret from me!!!

Things he said today that I'd never actually heard him say, but didn't really surprise me....

Hello Frankie boy
Pretty boy
Hi buddy!!
Hey Babyyyyy

Then he said....."How are you Franklin"...REALLY SHOCKED ME!!!! It was so freaking clear I about fainted! He really stressed the word...are...like How ARE you Franklin?

Phrases I knew he said, he was also chattering on about...
Him a good boy, Hello, Frankieeee, Frank the tank, give kiss, kissing sounds, what'cha doin?

I have never heard Franklin say so many different words/phrases in 20 minutes as I have today.

He's sooo funny!

Also, he's very hormonal right now...I have been teaching him to "shake" but now days...every time he grabs my finger to shake, if he's sitting on my knee or arm of chair...what ever... he fluffs up, lowers down and starts grinding!

Apparently he likes doing it with one leg up! Hahahahaha

Goofy bird!

Well, gotta get back to work...sooo glad it's FRIDAY!!!

Oh my gosh, that is so cute! I totally know what you mean about the GCC jibber jabber. It sounds like they are talking, you just can't make out what it is...I hope mine have a secret hidden vocabulary, like Frankin!

Little Greenies have so much personality, don't they??? I love Franklin's story!

Aww! I can't wait for Aleta's words to start sounding like real words instead of the tones she uses to represent words and phrases.

Aleta's breeder told me that GCC are notorious closet talkers. She said she often hears of birds secretly practicing words and phrases and then sharing them with their people. I think they like to surprise us. :D

I love them closet talkers. I had a Lilac that would talk up a storm if you left the room. Oddly if you put her in a car she'd chat up a storm.

Wow! Franklin's quite the talker!!! Haha
You should set up some sort of recorder so you can hear what he says when you're gone! Lol

That's so awesome! Peeko doesn't string words together yet. He says "Baby Peeko" together sometimes but that's it. He only says a few words... Sounds are more his thing.
