I have one bird. He is a Black Capped Conure and his name is Harley. His hatch date is 2/3/2014.
Hi guys, so I'm a little concerned about my little guy
He's been having about lot of watery bowels that are either a brownish red or bright yellow. He does have green bm but lately it's more so the other colors. He eats a pellet based diet (1/3 cup a day, but he usually eats about half of that) he occasionally gets seed. I also give him peeled apple pieces and sliced up baby carrots. Is this what could be causing his funny bm colors or should I call my vet. His behavior I am normal and he's drinking plenty of water. I'm just a little worried. He's a black capped conure just over a year old.

You might want to read the article at: Bird Droppings
then call you bird's vet and talk with them, but my thoughts are that you might have a sick bird on your hands.....

Good luck.....

What brand of pellets does he eat? The multi colored fruit shaped ones? Those will cause all kinds of "funny" poop colors. Has he been eating more fruit/veg or bathing more recently? That can cause loose/watery droppings. Try to think of all the factors that could contribute and if your coming up with no reasonable explanation (i.e. he decided to eat just the yellow pellets for some reason or he ate a lot of fruit today), then you should call the vet!

He's been bathing a lot more and yeah it's the multicolored ones(kaytee optimal nutritional diet parrot/conures). And had been getting more of his favorite fruits/vegetables that he loves more recently. It just scared me a little because I haven't seen that from him before. He still eats like normal, plays and socializes like normal so if it's the pellets and the fruit/vegetables doing it then he should be fine? I'll watch him over the next few days just to make sure. Thanks for responding :)
