Loco has been making this noise on and off for the last 3 days or so. I have no idea why, he's eating well and seem pretty happy although he's a little more calm than usual.

Anyone have any ideas? I just want to be sure he's 100% :)

Is this the same kind of vocalization he normally makes, but higher in frequency (pitch)?
Could he have something stuck in his vocal cords, causing them to sound higher in pitch?
Could he have caught a cold?
Partially paralyzed vocal cord?
Does he squawk as usual, or has that also changed?
Best wishes.

I wouldn't say it's normal no, though he has made similar noises when I scratch his head etc (happy noise).

He doesn't often make a whole lot of noise. He doesn't usually make this sound much. When I'm around (in sight) he makes it constantly. I thought it was a bit odd, unless he's just super happy all the time hahaha.

Apart from that he's seems fine, eats lots, plays lots, baths and is generally mischievous.

Sorry I should add, he doesn't seem unwell, in pain or to be acting strange. He just chirps a lot!

He's about 6 months old now. I'm starting to think you are right. I paid a bit more attention last night and this morning and when he heard me come down stairs this morning sure enough he made his "hey, hey, come say hi" whistle - no chirping. I got him out, did his poop training then filled his sprouts container and sure enough as soon as he started eating...."chirp, chirp, chirp".

I guess I was just curious to see if anyone else's bird made that noise.

My bird does the same thing when I come home. I am starting to believe it is because it's happy I am there since I'm out almost all day. :) Your bird should be fine.
